Job Summary

Italicatessen UK have vacancy for Warehouse Assistant in our busy Warehouse based in Brentford, United Kingdom. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the ideal candidate will be responsible for picking and packing orders, receiving goods inwards and all associated paperwork, following health and safety legislation, and working as part of a team. This position requires a degree of flexibility as it involves shift work between the hours of 05:30am and 9:30pm. It also does involve weekend work on a rotational basis.


Picking and Dispatching orders

  • Accurately and efficiently pick products from storage areas based on customer orders.
  • Ensure older dates go out first
  • Assist in restocking products as needed.
  • Communicate any stock discrepancies or quality issues to the supervisor.
  • Label packages accurately with customer information and product details.
  • Stacking goods in the correct storage area, following inventory control instructions
  • Ensure cleaning duties are carried out efficiently and correctly
  • Maintain a clean and organized picking area.
  • Comply with HACCP requirements
  • Carry out any other duty required their supervisor


The ideal Candidate requirements

Knowledge and Qualifications:


  • Driver's License - no Driving Disqualifications within the last three years is essential
  • Awareness and understanding of the food industry and warehouse operations
  • Forklift Certification will be an advantage


Experience

  • Previous warehouse experience desirable
  • Experienced eye-hand-foot coordination
  • Experience in assessing weights and judging distances and heights
  • Work experience in varying temperatures, depending upon season


Skills and competencies

  • Physically Fit as will have to manage heavy loads
  • Highly organised and efficient
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
  • Ability to handle fragile packages and parcels with care
  • Adaptable and flexible in your approach to work
