Chappell Enterprises UK are seeking a highly skilled Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our client's Grounds Maintenance team. This role focuses on the expert operation of tractor mounted equipment, ride-on cylinder and rotary mowers, and the use of specialist pedestrian and handheld machinery contributing to the exceptional upkeep of the diverse range of sports parks and green spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate tractors, ride-on mowers and other turf machinery with precision and care, maintaining the aesthetics and health of the grassed areas.
• Conduct routine and seasonal grounds maintenance renovations, adapting techniques and patterns to promote healthy turf growth.
• Utilise a variety of petrol and electric grounds maintenance tools and equipment, ensuring their proper care, maintenance, and storage.
• Implement safe working practices, conducting visual risk assessments, and adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures.
• Work flexibly across various sites, adapting to the changing needs of the seasons and weather conditions to ensure the highest standards of grounds presentation.

Requirements

• Essential: Basic Literacy & Numeric skills, and the ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Desirable: NVQ in Horticulture or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience as a grounds maintenance operative, with extensive knowledge and skill in operating ride-on mowers and turf machinery.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements relevant to the role.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and a passion for grounds maintenance.
