Help us make a difference as a Day Shift Fitter at our facility in Leicester.

A quick look at the role.

It is a4 on / 4 off rotating shift pattern. and the hours are 06:00 - 18:00 and 18:00 - 06:00

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Fitter to work within our anaerobic digestion plant, responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of machinery including pumps, conveyors, and pipework. You will be working in a dynamic environment where every day offers different challenges as part of a close-knit engineering team.

  • Repairing and maintaining machinery such as pumps, gearboxes, motors, augers, belts, bearings, drives, and pipework associated with the anaerobic digestion process.
  • Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities, which include lubrication, oiling, greasing, and changing worn parts on mechanical equipment.
  • Fault finding, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime.
  • Fabricating and welding components as required (MIG welding).
  • Working on automated equipment and ensuring the plant is operating at optimal performance.

Requirements

Here’s what we require:

  • Experience in sectors such as recycling, waste management, aggregates, water treatment, or general manufacturing is highly advantageous.
  • Proven experience working with automated equipment and carrying out repairs to heavy mechanical systems.

Desirable:

  • City & Guilds, NVQ, or BTEC Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Maintenance, Installation, Fabrication, or Fitting (preferably gained through a recognised apprenticeship).
  • Experience in fabricating and MIG welding.
