The Supply Chain Technology team is an integral part of the wider Tech function, working closely with our Supply Chain colleagues to deliver and support business priorities across our Supply Chain systems. Encompassing Technical Delivery Management, Business Analysis, Engineering and Quality Assurance, our friendly, supportive team work together to drive action and deliver results.

The Role

As our Product Owner you will manage and be responsible for a number of our Supply Chain systems, as well as being responsible for feeding and overseeing work within our Operations & Logistics Squad. You will support with key product focusses such as prioritisation and benefit realisation.

In this role you will represent the Operations & Logistics Squad and the work that goes on within, maintain business relationships with key Supply Chain business stakeholders across the group and develop roadmaps for key areas of strategic vision and focus. You will play a key role in the evolution of ways of working as well as quarterly planning.

Responsibilities
  • Using subject matter expertise to drive development of new and innovative ideas.
  • Developing and driving product area vision and strategy.
  • Consolidating Squad focus areas into overall vision and roadmap, with metrics and dashboards defined.
  • Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Defining and assessing product features and specifications.
  • Filtering feasible, viable products through the relevant teams to start delivery, with defined business case and success metrics.
  • Defining complex business rules including edge cases.
  • Defining overall measures of product success and ensuring suitable tracking mechanics are in place.
  • Using quant/qual data to support business cases and measure product success.
  • Identifying opportunities to iterate based on data and identifying metrics to measure success.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups with the Supply Chain Tech team.
  • Create development tickets with user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Hands-on involvement in technical discussions & architecture considerations.
  • Review tickets/requirements with the team and plan development according to benefits/priorities (adopting our Kanban framework).
  • Communicate to the team, the wider IT department, and business on priorities and delivery of requests.
  • Collaborate with the other Product Owners to ensure priorities are aligned and delivery is planned accordingly.
  • Support with basic troubleshooting & triage of issues highlighted by the business.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience of working as a Product Owner and/or with Supply Chain systems
  • Experience working within a fast-paced online retail company (desirable)
  • Technical background of software development (desirable).
  • Knowledge of NoSQL & relational databases (desireable).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient experience with Agile Management tools such as Atlassian ticket/issue tracking (JIRA)
  • Experienced in managing and leading the product development lifecycle to reduce time to market, improve product quality and ensure product success.
  • Full understanding and experience working within Agile and Waterfall delivery models.
  • Experienced in documenting complex customer and business requirements to action, prioritising the business expectations/requirements.
  • Good technical understanding of products and services as well as products upstream/downstream within the wider architecture.
  • Clear, concise, and organised communication.
  • A collaborative individual with excellent relationship building skills, ability to self-motivate and consistently
