Responsibilities:

  • Set up electronic systems and devices.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and refurbish industrial electronic equipment.
  • Repair malfunctions in circuitry and other system structures.
  • Troubleshoot electronic circuits to component level and effectively identify failure trends.
  • Test electronic components to board level, using various methods and testing equipment.
  • Repair and/or replace electronic components to board level, including but not limited to: diodes, transistors, resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, other printed circuit components.
  • Update software and run tests on existing equipment.
  • Familiarity and ability to utilize different types of test equipment such as function generators, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and power supplies. Isolate problems between the test environment (test station, interface adapter, test cables, etc.) and the units under test and resolve as necessary.
  • Record and interpret test data (plots, graphs, tabulated parameters, etc.) to determine pass/fail condition and determine when further analysis is needed.
  • The Electronics Repair Technician will communicate with Repair Services management to keep them informed of job status.
  • Identify potential areas for improvement of internal processes and procedures.
  • The Electronics Repair Technician will perform field service visits in a timely manner as required to resolve technical issues and perform retrofits requested by customers.
  • Ability to solder and desolder using through hole and surface mount technology.
  • Ability to recognize various electronic components and their functions.
  • Able to work in a progressive repair process, having direct interaction with employees performing other portions of the process.
  • Read and comprehend complex manuals and diagrams.
  • Maintain inventory.
  • Collaborate with other professionals on technical tasks.
  • Interpreting drawings, training manuals, and instructions in order to perform duties.
  • Following written, verbal, and telephonic instructions.
  • Attending regular training workshops and reporting to the Supervisor.
  • Ensures that all power and manual tools are operated in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • English (speaking, reading and writing) is mandatory.
  • Previous experience as an Electronics Technician or similar role (2 years minimum).
  • Completed exams in Electronics.
  • Ability to interpret electronic schematics and product drawings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Time management skills.
  • High attention to details.
