We are seeking a Children and Young People's Care & Support Worker (Term Time only) for our children's service Footprints, near Canterbury.

You will be responsible for carrying out peg feeds, giving physiotherapy to improve their health and well-being, and providing all forms of personal care whilst ensuring the children and young people in our care have the best opportunity to live the lives they deserve. Working at night within the home you will be a reliable and responsible key holder, ensuring that a safe and secure building is always maintained. The ages of individuals within our service vary between 5 and 24 years.

The working hours will be Monday-Friday 7am-10am, with weekends and school holidays off.

Who we are looking for:

We are a close-knit team and need people to join us with the following skills and qualities:

You must be motivated to respond and engage in all aspects of caring for our children.

You will be working 121 so will need to be patient and resilient with a caring attitude.

Experience in medication administration desirable however training will be provided.

Be honest, reliable, and trustworthy.

You must be able to use your initiative; we want you to come up with new ideas in supporting and inspiring our children and young people, so they do not miss out on childhood experiences.

You need good communication skills; not all our children and young people communicate verbally so you will need to adapt.

Ideally you will have a current clean driving license due to our location and driving our children to external activities (in SPF vehicles).

If you do not already hold Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent), it is mandatory (under The Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015, regulation 33) that you complete a Level 3 Diploma Children in Residential Care within 2 years to enable you to work within Footprints Care Home. Full details of this will be sent to you by the Learning & Development Team upon successful completion of your probation period.

Ideally, you will have experience of working with children and young people with similar needs or residential care experience, however full training will be provided to those without experience who demonstrate the right attributes and desire to make a difference.
