This person will deliver a high-quality HR advisory service to the firm's Commercial groups

Their goal is to do the usual things unusually well, make the complex simple and help internal and external clients build better, stronger businesses. Clients range from large multinationals to growth UK corporate firms and other professional practices, and include many household names.

Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the People Lead to establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders and assist with the development and delivery of a high-quality, proactive and solutions-focused HR advisory service to the Commercial groups
  • Assists Commercial groups with identifying high performers and underperformers and helps to design appropriate development/improvement plans
  • Collaborates with Learning & Development to support Commercial groups with various programmes
  • Supports the year-end and mid-year salary review processes for the Commercial groups
  • Provides clear guidance on firm policies and procedures and keeps up-to-date with employment law to ensure that any advice given is accurate and relevant.
  • Works in conjunction with the People Lead and Inclusion & Diversity team to help deliver on the firm's I&D strategy
  • Plays an active part in one of the firm's I&D workstreams
  • Supports the People Lead to manage headcount for the Commercial groups, including assisting with the annual headcount planning process and tracking headcount against the agreed plan for each team
  • Works with the People Lead and Recruitment Manager to clarify resource requirements for the Commercial groups and agree an appropriate strategy
  • Manages ad-hoc requests, including remote working applications and achievement award nominations
  • Involved in developing and delivering on People Projects

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Experience in a People Advisory environment, preferably within the legal sector or other professional services firm
  • Two years' experience at HR Officer/Advisor level
  • Ideally has or is working towards the CIPD qualification
