Head Warehouse Operative

My outstanding client is looking for a highly motivated individual to join their team as head warehouse operative who will be working with the Production Manager to ensure the smooth running of the warehouse department on a temporary to permanent basis.

This is a role for someone who wants to see things through to the end and genuinely takes pride in the work that they do.

To be successful in the role you must possess the following:

• Great organizational and time management skills.
• Be confident on Microsoft packages, particularly Word and Excel spreadsheets.
• You must have the initiative and the ability to work on your own, be flexible and adaptable with the ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth running of the warehouse department and produce high quality products whist following the ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Supervising other warehouse operatives
• Regularly liaising with Production Manager regarding stock, lead times and orders.
• Picking and packing of sales orders
• Receive delivery of goods
• Weekly, monthly and yearly stock takes.
• Updating stock locations
• Stock rotation.
• Fire alarm checks.
• Various other warehouse adhoc duties

Skills and Requirements:

• Competent on Microsoft packages, especially Excel which is essential.
• Computer literate with good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Excellent time management skills and highly organised.
• Positive attitude and excellent people skills.
• Impeccable attention to detail.
• Team player
• Forktruck licence (preferable)

Hours of work: 36.5 hours, Monday – Thursday 8am – 4:30pm and Friday 8am – 12:30pm

Location: Halifax

Reports to: Production Manager

Rate of pay: Up to £13ph dependant on experience.
