A new opportunity for a Machine Shop Quality Inspector has arisen within an exciting organisation.

Working as part of the inspection team you will be trusted partner responsible for ensuring that all manufactured products within the machining shop fully conform to customer requirements, whilst maintaining the company’s focus on safety, quality, cost and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspection of products in the machine shop
  • Calibration and validate monitoring and measuring equipment prior to use
  • Liaise with engineering team to clarify inspection and testing requirements
  • Support the production team with in-process inspection
  • Maintain product traceability and compliance to required standards
  • Quarantine and identify non-conforming parts to ensure all product non-conformances are accurately reported
  • Support problem-solving activities and investigations where product or process non-conformance has been identified
  • Contribute to quality led improvement initiatives and support overall quality performance

Experience, Skills:

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment in a Quality control role
  • Proficient in reading, understanding and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • Competent with manual inspection processes using equipment such as tapes, rules, micrometres, verniers, height gauges, thread gauges etc
  • Ability to write clear and concise inspection reports and work with both metric and imperial units as required
  • Ability to operate and programme CMM (Aberlink software with CAD desirable)
  • Ability to operate and programme FARO Arm (Faro 10 Software with CAD desirable)
  • Ability to operate and programme Polyworks (Polyworks Software with CAD desirable)
  • Ability to use paint thickness and gloss level instruments (desirable).
  • This role may evolve into an off-line programming position
