Job Description:

Role Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Tekla Draughtsman with proficiency in 3D AutoCAD to join our team in Leicester. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel fabrication and construction, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to produce precise and high-quality drawings using Tekla Structures and 3D AutoCAD software.

Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed drawings and models for structural steel, secondary steel, and architectural metalwork projects using Tekla Structures and 3D AutoCAD.
  • Produce general arrangements, layouts, and detailed fabrication drawings.
  • Revise and update drawings based on feedback from clients, structural engineers, and design or site teams.
  • Collaborate with project managers, fabrication teams, and site installation teams to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive program of work for each project.
  • Conduct site surveys as needed, taking dimensions and sketches to inform design and fabrication processes.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of O&M manuals and ISO 9001 documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve any technical issues that arise during the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Tekla Draughtsman in the steel fabrication or construction industry.
  • Proficiency in using Tekla Structures and 3D AutoCAD software to create detailed drawings and models.
  • Strong understanding of steel fabrication and construction methods and processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good numeracy skills and computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards.

Working Hours:

Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. This is a hybrid role, with 2 days working from home and 3 days in the office.
