As a Human Factors Engineer at Holtec Britain, you'll be instrumental in authoring human factors assessments for the SMR-300 small modular reactor design. Your role will contribute to developing the Human Factors chapter of the GDA, facilitating the deployment of SMR-300s worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Human Factors assessments, documents, and plans.
  • Assist in developing the Human Factors chapter of the safety case for the SMR-300+ GDA.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to the team, enhancing technical and personal skills for effective delivery.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders, including nuclear regulators.
  • Actively engage in a project-driven and highly integrated engineering team.

Skills and Experience:

  • Human Factors requirements derivation and knowledge of relevant standards and design guidance.
  • Experience in Human Factors Task and Error analysis.
  • Familiarity with HRA and Human-Based Safety Claims assessments.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and balance competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of credible engagement within and outside the organisation.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, able to address various organisational levels and external regulatory stakeholders.
  • Decisive decision-maker, proficient in crafting strong justifications and arguments.
  • Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810.
