We are working alongside a dedicated Secondary SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) School located in the heart of Guildford, Surrey, who are looking for a Maths Teacher to join in September 2024.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEMH Maths Teacher to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time, temp-perm position, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective Maths lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH.
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans that cater to the varying abilities within the classroom.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, resilience, and a love of learning.
- Utilize strong behaviour management skills to maintain a safe and conducive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and external professionals to support student progress.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and reporting.
- Participate in school events, training, and continuous professional development opportunities.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching Maths within a secondary school setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing challenging behaviour effectively.
- A deep understanding of the SEMH needs of secondary school students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Desirable:
- Previous experience working in an SEMH or similar specialist educational environment.
- Additional training or qualifications in special educational needs.
