Test Engineer

Location: Bristol, UK (Hybrid)

Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 DOE

Summary

Lynx Recruitment is working with an electronics client in Bristol to recruit a skilled Test Engineer with amplifier experience to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing test procedures for cutting-edge microwave amplifier systems, ensuring product quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement test procedures for microwave amplifier systems
  • Set up and maintain test equipment and environments for amplifier testing
  • Conduct thorough testing of amplifier prototypes and production units
  • Analyse test results and provide detailed reports to the design and production teams
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in amplifier performance
  • Collaborate with RF design engineers to improve product quality and reliability
  • Develop and maintain test automation scripts to increase efficiency

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field (or relevant experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in testing RF/microwave systems, with a focus on amplifiers
  • Strong understanding of RF theory and microwave circuits
  • Proficiency in using test equipment such as spectrum analysers, network analysers, and power meters
  • Experience with automated test equipment (ATE) and test software development
  • Familiarity with industry standards relevant to RF testing (e.g., MIL-STD, IEC)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation
