Job Description

🚀 The Job Mission

As a key member of our Civil Engineering Team, the Pool-Liner-Tank (PLT) Design Engineer will take a pivotal role in designing critical infrastructure. This role involves delivering innovative solutions to ensure the integrity and safety of steel lined pools, tanks, and inner containment.

Your missions will include:

⚡️ Produce documents for input data, justifications, and substantiation for steel-lined structures.

⚡️ Coordinate with stakeholders including clients, designers, and contractors during the design phase.

⚡️ Review and approve documents produced by the detailed designer.

⚡️ Deliver final design and construction documents to clients, supporting technical discussions.

⚡️ Manage design configuration, including design changes and margin management.

⚡️ Interface with civil designers to ensure timely delivery of designs.

⚡️ Contribute to CDM reviews and maintain the Design Risk Register.

⚡️ Liaise with site-based engineering teams to facilitate construction.

 

Qualifications

Essential Skills:

🛠 Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.

🛠 Experience in nuclear civil work or complex structures.

🛠 Strong knowledge in the design of concrete structures.

🛠 Experience in steel-lined pools, tanks, and inner containment.

🛠 Ability to perform engineering calculations using first principles.

🛠 Understanding of Eurocodes, American codes, or ETC-C.

🛠 Knowledge of UK health and safety regulations, including CDM 2015.

Desired Skills:

✔️ Preparing towards or achieved chartership with ICE or IStructE.

✔️ Experience on large complex projects.

✔️ Good understanding of seismic loading on structures.

✔️ Ability to work autonomously and produce reports independently.

✔️ Strong communication skills for presenting complex technical topics.
