Mechanical Design Engineer Permanent Full-Time

Salary - Circa £35,000 DOE
Location - Hybrid, Rooksbridge

We're working with a growing independent industrial water treatment company, they have over five decades of experience in the industry and are experts in building & supplying both pure as well as wastewater systems throughout the UK but also overseas.

With continuous growth within the business, there's now an opportunity to join them as a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for producing P&IDs, layouts and general arrangement drawings utilising SolidWorks and AutoCAD Lite, you will also be involved in developing a 3D library for standard plant items as well.

Responsibilities, but are not limited to

• Produce drawings in a timely manner and with attention to detail on behalf of the projecting team
• Develop 3D library for standard plant items
• Liaising with clients on design details - quality control/validation of manufactured designs
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings to assist fabrication including general arrangements, part drawings, developments, and templates
• Produce piping and steelwork fabrication drawings in the form of Isometrics, general arrangements, and orthographic
• Review & check detailed design drawings of piping systems, supports and steelwork in accordance with industry standards, codes, and client specifications
• Prepare & check bill of materials
• Provide technical input during detailed engineering of projects
• Provide support and input into the preparation of manufacturing work packs

Experiences required

• Excellent working knowledge of SolidWorks but open to similar CAD software: Inventor, Solid Edge, Creo, Fusion 360
• A good understanding of AutoCAD 2D
• Must have experience producing P&IDs or similar is essential
