Senior Quantity Surveyor – Rail – Bristol - £70k + Package

Do you have a refurbishment, fit out or civil engineering background and want to get into Rail?

Our family-owned client is working across multiple frameworks within the Rail sector and covers all of the above sectors. They are performing full site projects on rail assets from £500k up to £20m which could include the construction of a carpark, extensions to platforms, construction or refurbs of new offices or depots as well as repairs around canopies or roof replacements.

This work is so varied, it provides you with the ultimate environment to gain experience across multiple areas without having to change jobs and you will have exposure to JCT, NEC and bespoke NR contracts.

The role is to take full commercial responsibility for projects allocated working closely with the site teams and includes  a mixture of office, site and home based depending on the size and value of the schemes. Duties will include but not be limited to: -

• Preparing tenders, analysing, selecting appropriate s/c & finalising s/c orders, financial & commercially manage to Final Account completion.
• Prepare & present forecasts, targets & CV reconciliations.
• Prepare & agree valuations, including generating certificates & invoice/payments.
• Variations prepare with adequate/appropriate records, agree as works progress.
• Update projected Final Accounts on regular basis and prepare, submit & agree Final Account in a timely manner.
• Involvement in value engineering & design development
• Management of more junior members of staff
• Be involved with any claims or disputes
