£35,000 - £40,000/annum + car allow + full benefits package

Assistant Design Manager required to work for of the UK’s most successful and progressive privately owned construction businesses based in the North of England based out of the Wakefield office.

With a solid pipeline of projects for 2025/6 this main contractor is expanding the design management team and is looking for an Assistant Design Manager / Design Coordinator.

You should have experience within Design Management whether currently working for building contractor or as an Architect or Technologist with good design management skills.

Projects are varied and include education, healthcare, commercial, distribution and industrial schemes with values to £15M.

The Role

  • Design Management / Coordination of projects.
  • Manage the flow of design information, conduct design-gap reviews, develop value engineering proposals and to risk-manage the design development process.
  • Work with the project teams, clients, designers and subcontractors to ensure optimal design solutions are employed.
  • Deliver a design and sequence that can be delivered safely and maximise profit opportunities.
  • Design gap analysis
  • Consultant appointments including, Scope of services, Matrix of responsibilities etc.
  • Attend and chair Design Team Meetings to ensure the timely flow and release of quality information and to ensure that this information is in line with contractual obligations.
  • Produce technical information for company pre-qualification presentations.

The role comes with a very competitive salary to £40,000 plus car allowance plus benefits package and excellent career potential.
