We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Business Development to lead our clients efforts in identifying new business opportunities, building key customer relationships, and negotiating and closing business deals. This pivotal role involves extensive market research, strategy development, and cross-functional collaboration to drive business growth and achieve targets in alignment with the company's business plan.

Salary £67,500 plus OTE & Car Allowance

Hybrid role with regular travel around UK and to Head office in Poole, Dorset

As the Head of Business Development, you will have the opportunity to build and lead a high-performing team and play a crucial role as a core member of the management team. You will be immersed in the fast-paced environment of an innovative company with ambitious growth aspirations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to expand the company's market share and secure new business in the UK hospital and care sectors.
  • Achieve annual growth and profitability targets as outlined in the company's business plan.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key clients, industry stakeholders, and business partners.
  • Lead negotiations and close deals that align with the company's strategic objectives and financial goals.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns and initiatives that support the business development strategy.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the board of directors on market trends, competitive threats, and opportunities for innovation.
  • Manage and mentor a team of business development professionals, setting clear goals and performance metrics.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of success in a Head of Business Development role, within the UK hospital and/or care sector.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a proven history of building high-level relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing teams and driving performance.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Positive attitude and a drive to succeed.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Full driving license.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is desirable.
