My client is seeking a skilled and organized Dockmaster to manage their dockyard/Marina operations.

The Dockmaster will be responsible for managing the docking of ships/boats, ensuring the safety and security of the dock, coordinating the maintenance and repair of dock equipment, and providing excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of Shipyard/Boatyard/Marina operations.

Responsibilities

Manage the docking/Dry Docking and undocking of boats.

Ensure the safety and security of the dock and boats in the Shipyard.

Coordinate the maintenance and repair of dock equipment.

Provide excellent customer service to Boat/Ship owners.

Maintain a clean and safe dock area.

Oversee fuelling operations and ensure proper handling of hazardous materials.

Coordinate with local authorities and emergency services as needed.

Train and supervise dock staff.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Dockmaster or in a similar role in a Dockyard/Marina setting.

Naval architect qualification or similar.

Knowledge of boat operations and maintenance.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks.

Excellent customer service skills.

Understanding of safety regulations and procedures.

Ability to work in all weather conditions.

First aid and CPR certification is a plus.

Be able to produce a docking proposal block arrangement with Ships Docking plan.

Supervise of Docking block arrangement in drydock.

Berthing and unberthing of Vessels.

Operation of Caissons, penstocks.

liaise with Port Authorities and vessels master.

  • Job Title: Dockmaster
  • Work Environment: Dockyard/Shipyard/Marina setting with considerable time spent outdoors. Some travel may be required for industry conferences or training sessions.
  • Reporting Structure: Reports to the Operations Manager.
  • Salary: Salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
