Our client is a forward-thinking manufacturing company committed to innovation and excellence. As they continue to expand, they are looking for a talented and driven Manufacturing Engineer to join the team.

Job Description:

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in optimising production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. You will work closely with our design and production teams to develop and implement innovative manufacturing solutions that meet our ambitious production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and improve existing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Lead initiatives to implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Develop and optimise production workflows, layouts, and equipment to support efficient production.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to manufacturing processes or equipment.
  • Oversee the introduction of new products into production, ensuring that all manufacturing processes are robust and reliable.
  • Liaise with design and production to interpret customer/design needs into suitable shop floor instructions.
  • Encourage and suggest design for manufacture principles during product design.
  • Investigate production or design issues, develop solutions to improve quality or efficiency, develop action plans and follow up to conclusion.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to eliminate wastes and improve production efficiency/quality.
  • Lead and or support improvement projects.
  • Work with other functions as part of the manufacturing team & prioritise work as agreed.
  • Liaise with 3rd party certification bodies i.e. Lloyds /DNV.
  • Liaise with customers & suppliers where necessary

Qualifications:

  • Good understanding of design for manufacture principles
  • Good understanding of lean manufacturing principles
  • Experience of process optimisation and efficiency improvements is beneficial.
  • Previous experience using CAD/technical drawing software packages.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results on time.
  • Preferred Quality Management System awareness to ISO9001, statutory, regulatory & legal requirements.
  • Fabrication methods & materials (welding and assembly) is desirable but not essential
