Forklift Driver / Logistics Operator

About the Position
The Logistics operator role is part of our logistics team and will be responsible for the movement of all materials as required.

Location and Relationships

  • Based in Slough, Berkshire.
  • Individual contributor and has no supervisory responsibility.

Key Points

  • Able to work on either of the below shift patterns (depending on business needs)
    • 2 Shift Pattern:
      • 06:00 am to 14:30pm
      • 13:30pm to 22:00pm
      • Including 20% shift overtime uplift
    • 3 Shift Pattern:
      • 06:00 am to 14:30pm
      • 13:30pm to 22:00pm
      • 21:30pm to 06:00 am
      • Including 30% shift overtime uplift
  • Working 42,5hrs per week, paid for 40hrs per week
  • Ability to work overtime on Saturday / Sunday, if required.

Position Responsibilities

  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures
  • Report any Health & Safety issues to the line manager
  • Issue material to the line side
  • Follow procedures in Syteline
  • Collect bulk material from the machines and locate it in the pins
  • Conduct weekly stock checks of bulk material
  • Move material for quality technicians and supervisors as required
  • To sort waste into the correct waste stream
  • Advise the warehouse and logistics manager when collections are required for general waste, compactor, plastic, and other waste streams.
  • Keep the yard and line side clean and tidy
  • Load waste material onto collection vehicles
  • Complete all necessary paperwork for collections, delivery, and Goods In.
  • Check and pack all finished goods to the required standard.
  • Load finished goods as per the collection schedule.
  • Goods-In loading, booking and put away.
  • Keep all equipment clean, and tidy and report any issues.
  • Any reasonable requests from your line manager

Essential Skills and Characteristics

  • Flexible individual
  • Good communication skills – both written and spoken English
  • Forklift counterbalance, reach, and pivot / Bendi certificates
  • Required to lift up to 20 Kg
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multitask
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Be able to read, understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures
