Job Summary:

The successful Commercial Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial and commercial aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: Oversee all financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Contract Management: Manage and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure favourable terms and conditions.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks associated with projects.
  • Cost Planning and Control: Develop cost plans and budgets, monitor project expenditures, and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Procurement: Oversee the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed commercial reports for senior management, providing insights and recommendations for financial performance improvement.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of quantity surveyors and commercial staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Client Liaison: Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing any commercial issues and ensuring their satisfaction with project delivery.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Experience in a commercial management role within the construction industry.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction contracts, financial management, and commercial best practices.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in relevant construction and financial management software.
