Lead Software Engineer

£80K+ per annum + Bonus + Unlimited Holidays

Hybrid Cardiff (ideally 1 to 2 days per week in office)

Due to exponential growth and customer demand, our niche Software Tech client is looking for an additional Lead Software Engineer to join their team.

The Need: 

This role is crucial, it'll be leading a team that's responsible for the businesses core Application.

They need to keep up demand for their product therefore they need to bring in a Lead Software Engineer to help mentor and bring on a few Juniors and Mids, but also have the tech experience to hit the ground running and deliver key items in the Apps road map, including expanding the CRM functionality, and enhancing performance through AI. 

The Lead Engineer will also have an impact on modernizing the tech stack and scaling the application to enhance performance for its users.

The business is rapidly expanding therefore they are looking for Engineer who wants to make an impact and help the business capitalize on its growth. 

The Person: 

The role will suit someone who has a natural Backend lean, has extensive PHP experience and a broad knowledge of the tools and technologies in PHP; and who is strong in AWS, and is familiar with working with cloud and serverless technologies. 

Ideally the Engineer will have picked up some decent Frontend exposure over the years ideally in JavaScript however it isn't essential. They use Vue.js, however this is likely to evolve in the future.

MongoDB, MySQL or Elastic Search experience will be helpful but not essential.

This person will have a passion for Software and Technology. They'll be adaptable, and have experience with non standard tech. They won't be afraid to try and learn new technologies. They'll want to hit the ground running and make an impact from day one. They'll want to bring on other members of the team, and want to progress up the leadership ranks in the business. 

The head office is in Cardiff City Centre, with in-person expectations of 1 or 2 days a week, maximum. 

We have a budget of £80K base however there is definitely wiggle room for the right candidate.

The bonus scheme consists of a combo of personal, team, and company targets, and you can expect a bonus of 5-10% per annum. Some members of the team overachieve and earn bonusses in excess of 15%
