A leading North East-based construction consultancy is seeking a Principal Designer to join their dynamic team in Durham. This growing consultancy delivers a wide range of services across various sectors, including residential, commercial, and public projects, ensuring compliance with the latest health and safety regulations.
The Principal Designer Role
As the successful Principal Designer, you will be responsible for advising clients on all aspects of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
- You will collaborate with design teams to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring that all projects meet regulatory requirements from inception to completion.
- You will be involved in managing design risk assessments, preparing pre-construction information (PCI), and overseeing the review of construction phase plans (CPP).
- The Principal Designer will work on diverse projects throughout the North East, offering a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to enhance your career within a supportive environment.

The Principal Designer
- Proven experience as a Principal Designer within a consultancy environment
- Strong understanding of CDM 2015 regulations
- Background in design, architecture, or construction
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (essential)
- APS or IOSH membership is desirable
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
