Who are Medequip Connect?

Medequip Connect provide services to over 41,000 people nationwide with the objective of providing reassurance and support to older, disabled or vulnerable people allowing them to remain safely in their own home. 

We help people to maintain people’s independence by providing Technology Enabled Care (TEC) and a range of associated equipment that gives them the confidence of knowing that assistance is available at any time, 24 hours a day.  Our care technology services provide peace of mind to you, your family, and your friends.

About the role

As the Community Responder for Medequip Connect, you will you will be a vital link between our vulnerable clients and the support services they need.

You will work a flexible 24/7 rota and will be based at home, responding to calls from our clients - who press their buttons on their alarm units, which automatically comes through to our own friendly Emergency Response Centre. From there, our operators contact the nearest Community Responder who goes to assess the situation and assist the client or get assistance from the emergency services, if required. You will cover a wide range of locations throughout Oxfordshire.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Immediately respond to alarm calls, assessing the care and support needs of people at risk and providing or facilitating appropriate support.
  • Dealing with referrals, maintenance and installing alarm equipment at clients’ premises and explaining how the equipment/alarm works.
  • To undertake ‘last resort’ personal care when on a call-out, should it be needed, to maintain the client’s dignity.
  • To assist with the promotion of the service in local communities.

Qualifications and experience required.

  • Full UK driving licence, and some access to an appropriately insured and taxed vehicle for business use.
  • No specific experience is necessary, only a responsible and caring nature and a flexible approach full training will be provided.
