Mechanical Fitter (Fabricated Products)

Immediate vacancies for Mechanical Fitters to join the Delivery Team of an innovative end-to-end solutions provider in the water treatment industry. Focusing on the assembly and installation of heavy fabricated steel products such as settlement tank scraper bridges, gravity thickeners, aerators and access steelwork, the ideal candidate will be organised, flexible and have a great work ethic.

As a site based role, mainly covering the Midlands and the South, travel will be required.

The Role:

  • Carrying out on-site mechanical installation works associated with a range of fabricated products for wastewater and water treatment plants.
  • Ensuring that all systems are installed, tested and commissioning to relevant British, ISO and client standards.
  • Completing repairs, upgrades and refurbishment works to existing installed systems.
  • Working with mild and stainless steelwork - cutting, grinding, welding, fixing, etc.
  • Working with various types of pipework - stainless, ductile, mild steel, etc.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, customers, suppliers and other contractors.

You:

  • Engineering qualification, ideally to City & Guilds / HNC or equivalent level.
  • Min two years' experience in a similar role within the utilities sector and/or M&E engineering environment.
  • Experience in steelwork assembly, welding and site mechanical works.
  • Demonstrable training/qualifications in welding, steel fixing or similar.
  • Experience of structural steelwork and steel product installation would be an advantage
  • Electrical awareness and training would be an advantage.
  • Experience within the UK water industry is preferable, experience of installing scraper bridges would be a distinct advantage.
  • Willingness to travel regionally and nationwide on a regular basis (including overnight stays)
  • Full driving licence, any existing endorsements must be declared in the application.
