About The Role

Siltbuster is looking for a dynamic and experienced Sales Manager to lead their sales efforts across the Municipal Wastewater Treatment Sector. The successful sector Sales Manager will manage and inspire a team of talented technical sales engineers who are tasked with developing and growing new business within selected UK Water Companies & Associated Contractors.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Technical Sales Engineers to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand the company’s customer base and ensure strong market presence.
  • Manage and develop Key Relationships within the selected Water Companies, focusing on account growth and long-term relationship building.
  • Collaborate with companywide cross-functional teams to assess opportunity feasibility, optimising potential options and create tailored solutions that meet client needs.
  • Drive the sales process from initial contact through to order, delivery, and project close-out.
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance metrics, providing regular reports to senior management.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market activities, and competitors to identify new business opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
  • Represent Siltbuster at meetings giving presentations, training and holding technical and commercial negotiations.
  • Learn cross departmental specific skills and activities as applicable.

About You

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about making a difference in the water-environmental sector, with practical and positive outlook. Proven experience within the UK Municipal Sector is highly preferred, in addition to sales management, preferably within the technical or Engineering sectors to the Water Industry. Excellent leadership skills managing and developing a high-performing, technical sales team is required. Knowledge of wastewater treatment is preferable however not mandatory providing an appetite to develop an understanding.

You will have a strong commercial acumen and understanding of the sales lifecycle from conception to delivery. You will also have a demonstrated ability to manage and grow large accounts, with a focus on long-term client relationships & key account management.

Willingness and ability to travel (across the UK) to support your teams' sales activities and maintain key relationships is paramount.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Proven knowledge of principles and methods for driving profitable growth in a rental and sales orientated business.
  • Demonstrated experience in sales management with excellent leadership skills.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Outstanding planning and organising skills, with the ability to ensure efficient and effective daily time management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent analysis, data interpretation and technical, skills to identify project / client needs.
  • A basic understanding of the key elements associated with Wastewater treatment and applicable design standards is preferential.
  • Competent in the use of Office 365 notably Excel and Word.
  • Full UK driving licence
