  • Work with the Operations Manager, technical team, the Production Manager and the packing and warehouse team to develop and ensure compliance to the on-site quality management system and to BRC standards, resulting in the ongoing accreditation of the standards.
  • Act as a key member of the HACCP team, directly involved in HACCP implementation and review.
  • Ensuring that all labelling and date coding on site is accurate
  • Ensuring that all paperwork used for the site GMP is completed, accurate and filed so it is available for audit
  • Assist with the training of employees to new procedures and systems developed for BRC implementation.
  • Leading the TACCP and VACCP team
  • Manage the ongoing swabbing, sampling and organoleptic programmes
  • Maintenance & review of raw material suppliers, packaging suppliers, traded goods suppliers and service providers, records and audits.
  • The administration of customer complaints, investigations and corrective actions.
  • Carry out housekeeping, GMP and glass/hard plastic internal audits.
  • Maintain product safety and composition within current legislative requirements.
  • Investigate out of specification results from chemical and microbiological testing; non-conformances raised from internal audits.
  • Manage shelf life sampling, product reviews and benchmarking
  • Lead on NPD and Process Development on all new and existing products with regards to process standards, product safety and quality consistency.
  • Ensuring standard technical requirements such as Pest Control and calibration are managed to BRC standard
  • Evolving the QMS to ensure compliant with new BRC standards and customer requirements

Qualifications and experience:

  • 3-5 years related experience in a QA role ideally with a chilled food manufacturing business. It is essential that you have experience within the FMCG, food or drink sector before applying for this role.
  • Proven experience in the implementation of BRC Grade A Global Standard and Quality and Food Safety initiatives, including HACCP.
  • An advantage to possess qualifications in Level 4 Food Safety or equivalent.
  • The ability to read, analyse and interpret technical procedures and EU regulations.
  • Must have residency in the UK for at least 3 years and possess a full UK driving licence.

Additional Skills:

  • Oral communication: able to communicate clearly and persuasively.
  • Written communication: must be IT literate with experience of PC based applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and SAP.
  • Team focussed: must be able to work as part of a team, preferably with experience working in multi-functional teams within an FMCG organisation.
  • Planning/organizing: excellent administration and organisation skills with good attention to detail.
  • Dependability: Is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction, and solicits feedback to improve performance.
  • Safety and security: Actively promote and personally observe safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Confidentiality: The individual operates in a manner that unconditionally keeps the sensitivity and confidentiality of information that they may come into contact with.
