Senior Quantity Surveyor – Retail & Leisure Fit Out
 
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 (Dependant on Experience)

Working Hours: Full-time, Office-based (Lichfield) – 3 days in the office/2 days on site
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years in Retail or Leisure Fit-Out Projects
 
We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with extensive experience in the retail and leisure fit-out sector. The role will involve full turnkey commercial duties on fast-track fit-out projects from the estimating stage through to final account settlement, ensuring total financial control.
 
Senior Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:

• Full Financial Control: Managing all commercial aspects of projects from £100k to £1m, from initial estimating to sub-contractor procurement, cost management, and final account settlement.
• Project Management: Deliver fast-track retail and leisure fit-out projects, collaborating with the team to ensure projects are completed efficiently and within budget.
• Estimating and Procurement: Lead the production of feasibility costs, tender returns, subcontract procurement, and project cost reporting.
• Client and Stakeholder Liaison: Engage with clients and represent the company professionally, negotiating effectively with the supply chain and securing packages.
• Cost Reporting: Produce quantities, rate build-ups, and detailed estimates either within a Schedule of Rates (SOR) framework or from scratch.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Profile:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor for a Principal Contractor, preferably in retail or leisure fit-out projects.
• Proven background in managing fit-out projects, with a focus on carpentry, joinery, ceilings, partitions, and finishing trades.
• Exceptional time management, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to represent the company in client-facing situations.
• Strong negotiation skills and familiarity with sub-contractor management.
• Previous experience with fast-track, high-turnover projects.
