Job Overview:

The purpose of the role is to lead the people strategy for the Immigration & Justice sector. This role will report to the Chief People Officer given the importance of this sector with dotted line reporting to the People Director of the Communities Division (where the Immigration & Justice sector sits). This role will partner the Managing Director of Immigration & Justice to cultivate a transparent, high performing culture whilst support achievement of ambitious growth plans.

This is a critical role as the client looks to expand Immigration & Justice sector.

Responsibilities:

  1. The Strategic Advisor
  • Partner the Managing Director of Immigration & Justice and their leadership team to execute the people strategy, whilst coaching and supporting the development of the Managing Director.
  • Lead organisational design activities to deliver tailored people change, talent, L&D, and reward solutions in close cooperation with the respective HR Centre of Excellence (COE) leads.
  • Create a strategic workforce-plan in line with the business strategy and new business opportunities through strategic hires, proactive succession planning and effective talent management.
  • Drive value by cultivating highly effective working relationships with the wider OneHR function.

  1. Data Driven Insights Leader
  • Monitor and measure insights on the key OGSP metric, including labour costs, engagement, sickness absence, talent retention, attraction, and resourcing to spot trends, risks, and cost-saving opportunities. Define opportunity and risk mitigation action plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress and success of various People development initiatives, generating regular reports for senior leadership and sharing vital insights with relevant stakeholders.

  1. The Change agent
  • Identify the culture change plan for the Immigration & Justice sector, taking a lead from the Chief People Officer on how to imbed behavioural requirements and create a healthy culture.
  • Oversee all people aspects of securing new business deals, including designing, and organising the people components of bids and contract mobilisations, managing people transfers and demobilisations, presenting to prospective clients, advising clients on personnel solutions, and contributing to the sales process and tender submissions.
  • Own the people components of any margin enhancements initiatives to ensure a timely execution of people processes to achieve the committed goals.

  1. The Trusted Coach
  • Create an environment of high performance, trust, and openness by establishing strong relationships with the Senior Leadership Team through regular communication, respect, and genuine interest in their well-being and development.
  • Oversee escalated cases and all HR cyclical activities, including performance, talent management, and reward, while offering professional expertise counsel and guidance to the business.

  1. The custodian of Culture
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability, encouraging employees to embrace change as an opportunity for growth and development.
  • Role Model value-led leadership, acting inclusively with authenticity, integrity, and a growth mindset.
  • Lead, inspire and motivate a team of People Business Partners, developing a highly effective succession pipeline.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Recent experience in a senior HR role within the Immigration and/or Justice sectors preferrable.
  • A strong track record in managing and driving HR strategy and initiatives in a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Comprehensive experience as a Senior HR Business Partner, including reward, employee relations, talent, succession planning, leadership development, organisation design, and people change.
  • Demonstrable commercial and pragmatic approach to human capital solutions.
  • Capability to provide accurate and timely people insights to support and verify decision-making and delivery of business objectives.
  • Experience in project management, large-scale mobilisations, and knowledge of TUPE regulations.
  • Ability to influence both internal and external senior stakeholders, establish relationships at all levels, and communicate effectively.
  • Strong presentation skills for both, internal and external (client-facing) settings.
  • Robust personal organisation skills - effectively managing projects and time.

  • Degree and CIPD qualification are desirable.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Clean driving licence.
