Supply Chain Consultant | Newport | Up to £40,000 | Hybrid

The Opportunity:

We are recruiting for a Supply Chain Consultant who is looking for the autonomy and ownership to manage their own portfolio of suppliers from initial purchase order release right through to delivery, overcoming any obstacles which may occur along the way.

As a Supply Chain Consultant, you will be a people’s person, with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels, contributing to an honest relationship with your suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake daily material planning, scheduling and delivery of components in line with delivery of work plan.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with circa 50 suppliers.
• Maintain and manage ERP system to reflect requirements based on suppliers lead times.
• Oversee supplier delivery performance, addressing any supplier’s non-conformance issues.
• Identify risks in material supply and take action to address these to ensure no effect to delivery.
• Collaboratively work with internal teams and suppliers to reduce supplier lead times.

Candidate Essentials

• Previous experience of working in a Supply Chain / Procurement environment.
• Proficient in Excel; able to complete VLOOKUP’s, work with formulas and build and create macros.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work with autonomy.
• Able to manage multiple work streams and prioritise workload, working to strict deadlines.
• High level of accuracy and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
• Flexible to travel to visit suppliers which could include over night stays, around once every 6 weeks.

 Desirable

• Spanish speaking would be advantageous but not essential.
• Previous experience working in manufacturing would be desirable.
