Brio Digital are currently supporting a well know FinTech company who are on the lookout for multiple Principal Database Engineers.
Suitable for Lead/Managers too who are still extremely hands-on.
Database Engineer Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL databases to ensure data integrity, performance, and security.
- Optimise database performance through indexing, query tuning, and capacity planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support database-related needs and initiatives.
- Perform regular database backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery planning.
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure maximum uptime and responsiveness.
- Evaluate and implement new database technologies and features to enhance data infrastructure.
Database Engineer Experience:
- Proven experience as a Principal Database Engineer.
- PostgreSQL.
- MySQL.
- Strong understanding of database design, optimization, and maintenance.
- Proficient in writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Experience with performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
- Knowledge of database security best practices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
