Job Overview:

Due to our continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced Site Fitter to join our client’s team. Our client is a well-established engineering company based in Chesterfield, specialising in pipework and steelwork installations on various sites throughout the UK and Europe.

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced fitters to work in a dynamic environment, with excellent rates of pay, full travel coverage, and long-term prospects.

Responsibilities:

  • Install mechanical pipework, including flanged, coupling, fabricated, and screwed/socketed systems.
  • Competently connect pipework to pumps, valves, and compressors.
  • Work at heights, ensuring safe and efficient installation.
  • Install brackets and supports for pipework, such as Unistrut and custom-fabricated brackets.
  • Complete structural steelwork installations, including staircases, mezzanines, and platforms.
  • Measure, plan, and install multiple pipe routes in factory settings, with the ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams and complex engineering drawings.
  • Conduct equipment and machinery installations with precision and expertise.
  • Liaise directly with clients, ensuring professional and courteous communication.

Person Specification:

  • Experienced Mechanical Pipe Fitter with a proven track record in industrial installations.
  • Strong understanding of pipework connections and associated equipment.
  • Ability to work away from home at various sites across the UK.
  • Confident working at heights and with large-scale steelwork installations.
  • Excellent ability to measure, plan, and execute installations in accordance with technical drawings.
  • Friendly, professional attitude, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Keen eye for detail, ensuring all installations are neat, safe, and professional.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and high-quality workmanship.
  • Confident in customer interactions, understanding and addressing client requirements.
  • IPAF 3a and 3b certification and Passport to Safety are advantageous (training can be provided).
  • Full UK Driving License required.
  • Willingness to travel and work at various UK and European sites.
