Pay Rates: Day £11.45 P/hr Sat/Nights £16.14P/hr Sun/Bank Hols £20.95 P/hr
Working hours: Monday – Sunday
Preferred Timings:- 7-3, 12-8, 7-7

Our trust was established in April 2012 as the only fully integrated provider of health services to an isolated offshore population of 140,000. Community, mental health and learning disabilities services will soon transfer to Hampshire & Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Partnering with Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. Based at the heart of the Island, with 266 beds and handling around 27,000 admissions each year, St Mary’s Hospital in Newport is our main base for delivering acute services for the Island’s population. Services include the Emergency Department (A&E), the Urgent Treatment Centre by referral only, Emergency medicine and surgery, planned surgery, intensive care, comprehensive maternity, Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) and paediatric services with 986 births last year.

What you will be responsible for:
- Monitoring patients' conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations, and weight.
- Assisting in the delivery of patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse
- Ensuring that the patient is the prime focus when making decisions about their care and wellbeing.
- Assisting patients with compassion when undertaking normal activities of daily living whilst ensuring that privacy, dignity, and human rights are respected.
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.
You’ll have the following qualification/experience:
All Care support worker roles will be required to provide evidence of completing the Care Certificate or a relevant qualification. Evidence accepted includes:
- Student Nurse with at least 12 weeks’ clinical placements.
- Care Certificate from an NHS Organisation
- QCF Level 2 Diploma in Healthcare Support Services – issued after 2011
- QCF Level 2 OR above Diploma in Health & Social Care or Clinical Healthcare Support – issued after 2011
- QCF Level 3 OR above Diploma in Healthcare Support or Maternity & Paediatric Support – issued after 2011 (For Paediatric & Maternity roles only)
- Degree /Diploma in Nursing and currently do not have an NMC Registration.
- A minimum of 6 months experience as a Mental Health Care Assistant (Qualifications required to accompany individuals with 6-12 months experience).
*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
