The Role

Due to a period of fast growth, my client is seeking to expand its administration and commercial team, with a need for a Commercial Assistant. As a Commercial Assistant, you will support the Commercial and Quantity Surveying team in managing costs, contracts, and procurement. Your role is pivotal in ensuring smooth project delivery, from tender to completion, while maintaining a focus on quality and profitability. Previous experience with a house builder is ideal, but not essential,


 Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and document management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with commercial systems (e.g., COINS, Sage) is a plus.
  • Previous experience in the construction, property, or related industries is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

    Duties
     
  • Assist in the preparation and management of tender documents, contracts, and purchase orders.
  • Support the Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyors with cost analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes and ensure timely procurement of materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of project costs, variations, and financial reports.
  • Help monitor project budgets and assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Provide administrative support, including document management and meeting coordination.
  • Liaise with internal teams such as Construction, Design, and Finance to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Support in preparing monthly valuations and financial statements.
