Leading contractor in the water sector urgently seeks an Assistant Project Manager to join their busy team.

Typical projects include the construction, upgrade and maintenance of waste water treatment works and waste water infrastructure across the Severn Trent Area.

The ideal Assistant Project Manager will come from either a mechanical engineering or civil engineering background with some previous experience in water treatment or waster water treatment plants or mass utility infrastructure.

Duties for the Assistant Project Manager will include:

•              Supervise site survey investigations.

•              Co-ordinate and review survey reports and distribution

•              Material take off’s from fabrication drawings, site GA’s, valve & instrument schedules and standard specifications.

•              Procurement - responsible for obtaining quotations (3 minimum) and raising Purchase Orders for items with suppliers.

•              Attend HAZOP, ALM, HAZCON, HAZCOM meetings to assist Project Manager.

•              Visit sites as required to assess job requirements.

•              Assist Project Manager with enabling and site set up including water and electric connections

•              Assist Project Manager in preparation of H&S documentation including but not limited to the following;

o             Risk Assessments / Method Statements,

o             Construction Phase Plans,

o             Traffic Management Plans,

o             Site H&S files,

o             Permits to Work,

o             HASWA compliance

o             CDM compliance

•              Ensure all project records are up to date and available within project files.

•              Follow up the order status for delivering material to the site to support the production schedule, manufacturing lead times and site activities. 

•              Assist Project Manager with NCR resolution and reporting

•              Developing a detailed working knowledge of all standard products.

•              Assist project manager with creation of Impact Plans.

•              Compile documentation for:

o             Inspection Test Plans

o             Materials in Contact profroma

o             Capitilisation Plan (with commissioning engineer)

•              Assist Project Manager with snagging process.

•              Assist commissioning engineer with commissioning plans and documentation

•              Compile H&S file upon completion of project.
