Rehabilitation Officer
Duration: Initially 6 months
Hours: 37 hours a week
Rate: £18.38 umbrella an hour (£14.41 PAYE an hour)
Gloucestershire County Council are looking for a Rehabilitation Officer to join their Multi-disciplinary team based in Gloucester. This role will be on a shift basis which include every other weekend and sleep in duties as required.
As a Rehabilitation Officer you will:
- Support people with social and physical activities providing emotional support and encouragement
- Assist or prompt individuals with personal care, which may include bathroom functions, bathing, grooming, dressing and eating
- Administer, prompt, or assist individuals with their medication requirements
- Maintain a clean environment by completing tasks such as changing linens and performing basic household cleaning
- Provide mobility assistance, for example, assisting individuals in and out of bed, a chair or a wheelchair
Requirements
- Experience of supporting or working with vulnerable people in a care setting, providing support with personal care and medication administration
- Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience of using initiative to problem solve
- An understanding of the role and purpose or promoting health and well-being, including the influence of life factors, lifestyle choices and life events on growth, health and well-being
- Educated to GCSE Level 9-4 (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent or working towards level 3
