Recruit Central are looking for a Design Engineer based within Stafford. In this role you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design and development of new product concepts and complex engineering projects. You will design and develop engine components and systems to release to production in a timely manner to ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality, optimised cost, and serviceability. You will partner with global teams and suppliers whilst contributing to the planning and delivery of projects.

Job responsibilities:

  • Researching new materials and competitive products. Organizing, coordinating, and executing the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.
  • Assisting supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance.
  • Leading and supporting DFMEA and DVP&R creation.
  • Provides effective technical solutions to routine functional challenges via sound technical competence, effectively examining implications of events and issues.
  • Release of product designs into engineering systems to a high quality and defect free standard
  • Leads the design, analysis, and simulation elements. Prepares and maintains personal plans and is responsible for meeting scheduled dates.
  • Prepare presentations and to share proposals and solutions with other members of the organisation.
  • Be single point of contact to the “Cost-Down” project team and be the engineering lead within that group.

Key Skills needed:

  • Requires a bachelor degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum plus 1-3 years’.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to gain a mastery of complex engineering and manufacturability concepts.
  • Must have a good mechanical aptitude with ability to develop product concepts.
  • Requires strong leadership ability and good communications skills.

  • CREO/AutoCAD
  • Must have Microsoft Packages knowledge 

Hours: 3 days on site/ 2 days from home. 37 hours a week. Monday to Thursday 8am-4:30pm. Friday 8am until 1pm.
