Community Development Worker

Location: Worksop (may be required to work at other college campuses as/when required)

Salary: £26,352 (£21,366.48 pro-rata) per annum + benefits

Hours: Part time (30hrs per week, all year round)

Contract: Fixed term until 31 July 2025

The Role

They are looking for a proactive and professional individual who will be responsible for a number of key duties including co-ordinating the groups community learning provision in line with funding requirements and will assisting the coordination of a range of other activities throughout the academic year such as Awards Evenings and Community events.

You will be committed to providing an excellent customer service to both internal and external clients, whilst producing a high level of accuracy, excellent organisational skills and a flexible approach to work.

Through a proactive, enthusiastic and customer focused approach you will help the College achieve its mission to provide skills for the future of their students and community, through outstanding teaching and learning. Your work will ultimately lead to increased enrolment numbers, highly accurate data, meeting funding requirements plus positive development of the College reputation.

Skills and Qualifications

  • You will have experience in working in customer focused and community development role, preferably in a Further Education environment.
  • You must be able to communicate well with others and those in your team.
  • You should be organised, with experience of a wide variety of IT packages, including Microsoft and Google.
  • You must have a proactive approach and good customer service skills.
  • You will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths or be willing to work towards.

Department Info

The Community Development Worker is a key part of the College’s Community Learning Team, supporting both learners and staff throughout the academic year. This role is extremely important in assisting the Community team to achieve its goals which link into the College’s mission.
