Pre-Construction Manager – Civil Engineering

Information on the role:

• Leading civil engineering projects from the pre-construction phase through to completion.
• Managing and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to ensure alignment with project goals.
• Acting as the primary point of contact for clients during the pre-construction phase.
• Overseeing the preparation and submission of tenders, bids, and pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs).
• Ensuring that pre-construction activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Providing technical input during the design and planning stages to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Facilitating the smooth transition from pre-construction to project delivery teams.

What we’d like from you:

• Proven experience in civil engineering, including managing pre-construction activities such as tendering and bidding.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; professional accreditation (e.g., CEng, MICE) is desirable.
• Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the potential to grow into a director-level role.
• Excellent client-facing communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency in project management and estimating software.
• A thorough understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and industry regulations.
• Willingness to work on multiple projects and adapt to client needs.
