Working hours: 21 hours per week- Part-time (3 days per week)
Havering is seeking experienced Family Support Workers to join our dynamic Care Teams. The role focuses on working with children, families, and partner agencies to provide comprehensive services aimed at improving family relationships, parenting, and safeguarding outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support families by promoting positive parenting and reporting observations to Social Workers.
- Facilitate a safe and supportive environment for family contact sessions.
- Deliver services that enhance children and young people's wellbeing and safeguard their needs.
- Work from one of the Borough's Children Centres, ensuring all family and child meetings take place face-to-face.
- Accurately document notes and reports on family interactions and children’s progress.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working with children and families from diverse backgrounds in the public or voluntary sector.
- Experience working in partnership with other agencies and contributing to multi-agency work.
- Knowledge of social work roles and responsibilities.
- Strong IT literacy and the ability to prepare reports, including for court proceedings.
- Flexible to work occasionally outside normal office hours.
