The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated Maths Faculty Lead to join a forward-thinking school in Harlow on a long-term contract until August, with the possibility of an extension. This role is ideal for a dynamic maths educator ready to lead the department and make a significant impact on both teaching standards and student achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Maths faculty, overseeing curriculum planning, teaching, and assessments across Key Stages 3, and 4
- Support and mentor the maths teaching team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Teach high-quality, engaging lessons that cater to students of varying abilities.
- Use data-driven approaches to monitor student progress and improve academic outcomes.
- Lead departmental meetings, contribute to whole-school initiatives, and drive continuous improvement in maths teaching.
- Stay informed about educational developments and ensure the department adheres to exam requirements and best practices.
About You:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Extensive experience teaching mathematics at secondary level, with a strong track record across Key Stages 3 to 4.
- Previous leadership or departmental management experience is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
