Our Douglas-based client who is focused on fiduciary services with a reputation for excellence is growing their team and are now seeking a Part-time (circa 15-20 hours per week) Credit Controller to join and play a leading role within the firm.
In the role of Credit Controller you will be responsible for:
- Managing the debts of clients
- Assisting the team with maintaining up-to-date accounting records for the Group of Companies
- Work with the teams to monitor any write-off and uplifts to ensure effective control and consistency
- Maintain relationships with existing clients and debtors, including negotiating terms of payment
- Take a proactive role in managing and collecting debtors
- Ensure timely payments are made
- Monitor the day-to-day debtor receipts
- Reconciliation of client balances
- Process incoming funds and reconcile invoices
- Check and post receipts to accounting systems
- Preparation of statements, client status reports and related information as required
- Resolve account queries and respond to client enquiries
- Responsibility for investigating variances between monthly budgets and actual results
- Preparation of ad hoc reporting requested by directors and senior management
- Assist the Head of Finance with general central finance activities
- Use best judgement to highlight and report inefficiencies in the business
- Ensure the effective and efficient day to day operation of the finance team across all Group Companies
- Provide an ongoing and consistent support to colleagues reliant on the Central Finance Team - focusing sharply on best practice
The ideal candidate for the role of Credit Controller will have:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a finance team environment
- Possess excellent communication skills enabling effective contact at all levels both internal and external
- Able to plan and carry out own work under general direction
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Good knowledge of relevant computer applications
- High degree of flexibility and willingness to help others
- Friendly and professional manner
- Have commercial acumen
