Our client is now looking for an Events Project Manager.

Project Manager

A global event production company, specializing in content creation, technical production, design, and event management, is seeking a full-time Project Manager to join the team. Based in South East London, the company works exclusively with agencies and private event planners, bringing together design and production expertise to deliver standout events. With a growing business and a team of around 25 dedicated professionals, this role requires proven experience in the events industry, along with strong technical and scenic production knowledge.

The Role:

  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from brief to completion, following the ‘critical path’.
  • Liaise with clients to define project briefs and requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to develop solutions that balance creativity, practicality, and value for clients.
  • Manage day-to-day client communications and ensure any production or design changes are clearly communicated.
  • Articulate and justify proposed production methods and cost items while collaborating with clients.
  • Schedule and manage skilled freelancers and technicians, coordinating their roles within projects.
  • Handle project delivery, including managing client-owned or sub-contracted equipment.
  • Oversee subcontractor deliverables, ensuring they meet agreed specifications, and manage fabrication/production.
  • Ensure all health and safety (H&S) requirements are met, and protocols are enforced on-site.
  • Maintain financial control of projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
  • Reconcile project finances post-completion and ensure timely client invoicing and payment.
  • Conduct post-project debriefs, sharing best practices and learnings across the company.
  • Proactively drive project progression and collaborate with other departments.

While a level of technical expertise is beneficial for this role—PMs need to know what lighting, speakers, and audio equipment are best suited to the event—this is primarily a Project Management role. Candidates should be fully capable of producing an event from start to finish, handling everything from the finer details like flowers and table settings to more complex logistics, such as installations at Glastonbury!

The Person:

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale live shows and events with expertise in technical and scenic disciplines.
  • Experience with virtual events is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency in Google Drive, Microsoft 365, and familiarity with rental management systems like HireHop.
  • Capable of managing complex budgets of £250k+.
  • Committed to quality and detail-oriented, with strong leadership and team-oriented skills.
  • Adaptable to creative and client-driven changes, calm under pressure, and highly organized.
  • Passionate about industry innovations and willing to embrace new technologies.
  • Able to travel internationally, occasionally for extended periods.
