Our client is a leading Audio-Visual (AV) integrator, specialising in providing cutting-edge technology solutions to a wide range of clients across various sectors. As their service offerings continue to grow, they are seeking a driven and hungry Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join their expanding team. Role Overview:
The Sales Development Representative will play a crucial role in driving growth for the Service Department. This is not a role for the faint-hearted, it requires someone who is comfortable "knocking on doors", having difficult conversations, and persistently driving new business opportunities. You will be responsible for engaging with companies to discuss their AV service agreements, with a focus on securing long-term contracts for our client to manage their on-site AV equipment.

The role demands someone with a proactive, hands-on approach who is hungry to succeed and eager to learn. In return, you will receive full training and support, as well as opportunities for professional growth within a thriving industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation & New Business Development: Research and identify potential clients within the AV sector, targeting companies who could benefit from service agreements to manage their AV equipment. Proactively generate leads, reach out to prospects, and convert opportunities into business.
  • Client Engagement: Meet with clients, both over the phone and face-to-face, to build relationships and present tailored AV service solutions. You will need to be persistent in securing meetings and nurturing those leads into long-term partnerships.
  • Building Relationships: Develop strong, lasting relationships with clients and other stakeholders. Understand their needs and challenges to offer customised solutions, ultimately securing ongoing service agreements.
  • Client Meetings and Site Visits: Travel to client sites around London and occasionally beyond. Attend networking events, industry shows, and other meetings to promote the company and uncover opportunities.
  • Market Insight: Stay up to date with industry trends, competitors, and technological advancements within the AV sector, using this knowledge to inform your sales approach.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including the wider sales team, to ensure a smooth handover of newly acquired clients and foster collaborative success across the business.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Driven and Proactive: You're a go-getter who thrives in a field-based sales environment, willing to 'knock on doors' and keep pursuing opportunities.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a field-based sales role is essential, ideally with some exposure to business development or service-based sales.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial, allowing you to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Resilience: The ability to handle rejection and overcome challenges with a positive mindset is key to success in this role.
  • Learning Mindset: A keen interest in the AV industry and technology, with a willingness to learn and grow within this dynamic sector.
  • Full UK Driving Licence: Essential for travelling to client sites and meetings, which will form a significant part of this role.

Package:

  • Starting Salary ranging from £25,000 to £30,000 (depending on experience)
  • OTE £60,000 pa
  • Car allowance/mileage paid/travel card expensed
