Assistant Accountant

We are looking to recruit on behalf of our client, an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their existing team on a permanent basis.
Applicants should be in the process of obtaining AAT or already hold a full qualification, or already obtained AAT or a part qualification in relevant accounting body such as CIMA.
Duties will include assisting in reconciling the interfaces from the Sales, Payroll, Purchasing and Treasury departments into the monthly management accounts, also making the relevant accruals and prepayments, providing commentary on variances against budget. Use initiative to highlight anomalies to the management accounts team, and/or investigate any anomalies to ensure 100% accuracy, developing working relationships within the wider finance team to ensure all necessary information flows to enable production of the monthly management accounts, contributing to the process of continuous improvements in the department. To increase the efficiency and quality of all aspects of the accounting and reporting functions and assist with the production of routine and ad hoc analysis and reports, as required by the Head of Management Accounts.
