Together we are looking to recruit and Electrical Design Engineer on contract basis.

The Electrical Design Engineer role is for a minimum of 6 months in the Essex area with a negotiable day rate depending on experience.

If you are an Electrical Design Engineer with Commercial/Industrial Scale Solar PV design experience, then apply delay.

Responsibilities and duties

• Conduct general electrical design activities for DC and AC installations on commercial and industrial-scale Solar PV projects, including substation layouts, single-line diagrams (SLD), wiring schematics, cable sizing, earthing layouts, and protection scheme development.
• Ensure solar PV engineering designs are completed on time by interpreting design specifications, technical drawings, and tender documentation while assessing risks and project requirements.
• Provide technical expertise to resolve challenges, attend project progress meetings, and collaborate with Technical Advisors on solar PV development sites

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• HNC/HND or equivalent minimum; BSc, BEng or equivalent desired
• Experience within a similar role for commercial/industrial scale Solar PV projects.
• Knowledge and understanding of UK electrical standards and experience of G99 applications would be an advantage.

Rates of the Electrical Design Engineer role:

• Day Rate negotiable depending on experience
• 6 month contract with possible extensions with future projects
• Outside IR35
