As a Special Education Needs Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting children with their academic, social, and personal development. This isn't your typical school job—as an instructor, you will work with kids in both the college (16–25 years old) and the school (5–19 years old), helping them experience everyday life, build life skills, and go on interesting field trips.
The responsibilities of this role include providing personal care, mobility assistance, and residential support in addition to assisting students with SEND in developing their independence and daily life skills. You will help students make the most of their educational opportunities and interests both within and outside of the classroom.

Since the school is passionate about building relationships, they will want you to treat students in a similar manner in order to safeguard their physical and mental well-being.

All school personnel must be registered with the updating service and have their updated DBS updated. In the event if not, we can help by providing you with a direct application link. An OSPC (Overseas Police Check) is required if you have worked abroad for more than six months in the previous five years. As a safety measure, these will be needed in every school.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Previous experience working with children or young adults, ideally in a school or support work setting.
  •  Experience with SEND students as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
  •  Excellent classroom management
  • An NVQ Level 2 or higher Teaching Assistant qualification preferably
  • Experience working with Autism
