SENDCo Type: Maternity Cover Start Date: 01/11/2024 Location: Gloucester (multi-site) Pay: £190 - £260 per day 

Our client is a new & expanding Alternative Education Provision, serving primary & secondary-aged learners with EHCPs mainly relating to ASC & SEMH, based on multiple sites around Gloucestershire. Despite many of the challenges which their learners face, although the learners may display challenging behaviours, the school maintain a 'no-restraint' policy and always use a restorative approach to working with their learners.

We are seeking an experienced SENDCo to cover maternity leave and ideally someone with previous experience of having supported learners in specialist provisions who have needs relating to ASC, SEMH, trauma, ADHD. The ideal person will be able to effectively support colleagues, carry out learner SEND / EHCP reviews and ensure the individual needs of learners are being met. 

If you have had training in positive behaviour management such as Team Teach / PBM / MAPA and/or THRIVE training we would be particularly interested in hearing from you. If you are successful in your application for this post, Team Teach training will be offered free of charge if required for the post.

The full working day is from 8:30am to 4:00pm, The role is  full time but part-time working may be possible pending the applicants suitability and flexibility.

  • The ability to engage parents in supporting children at home by helping to set boundaries and managing behaviour
  • The desire to go through training and deliver ideas so that ideas can be implemented.

  • Are committed to safeguarding young people and helping them overcome difficulties
