We are seeking an experienced Housing Capital Programme Contract Manager to oversee and deliver key housing improvement projects across a range of properties. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality projects that improve homes, enhance sustainability, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capital Programme Delivery: Manage a portfolio of housing capital projects, including kitchen and bathroom replacements, re-roofing, window and door upgrades, and fire safety works. Ensure all projects are delivered to agreed standards, within budget, and on time.
  • Project Management: Take full operational responsibility for projects, including managing contractors, monitoring progress, and ensuring high standards of health, safety, and quality. Projects will often involve occupied properties, requiring careful planning to minimise disruption to residents.
  • Financial Management: Oversee budgets for contracts ranging from £10k to £3m, ensuring effective financial control, cost management, and value for money throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contract Management: Manage the performance of external contractors, ensuring they meet all contractual obligations and maintain the highest standards. Monitor certification, health and safety compliance, and quality assurance throughout.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Lead communication with tenants, residents, and other stakeholders, ensuring strong relationships and positive outcomes for all parties involved in the housing improvement projects.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to business planning, policy development, and the continuous improvement of processes and procedures to enhance service delivery.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all work complies with statutory regulations, corporate policies, and health and safety standards. This includes addressing fire and water safety concerns and ensuring the long-term value and safety of properties.
  • Problem Solving: Resolve complex project issues, ensure effective risk management, and act as the key point of contact for escalated issues.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualifications: Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CIOB) or extensive experience in the construction sector, with a good general standard of education including GCSE-level English and Mathematics.
  • Experience: Strong knowledge of construction project management, contract forms, and housing improvement projects. Experience in managing large-scale projects in the social housing sector is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, financial management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work on multiple complex projects simultaneously.
